Sir Oliver Quimby, the Royal ArchivistStaff changes, re-locations, additions–the new year brings all kinds of exciting new changes in store for the archives. Some of them we’ve already implemented, even. Would you like a tour?

–Sir Oliver Quimby, Royal Archivist

The months-long modifications to the website continue. Here are the highlights:

The About Us page has changed to reflect RA’s new direction and its change in personnel.

If you mouse over Storyteller’s Tools in the main navigation bar you’ll notice perhaps that we’ve changed things up there as well. To wit:

  • The expanding Wiki is now at the top. We’ve added numerous pages in the last week with plans to add many more in the coming months.
  • There are also three new additions: Shared Ingressa, Story Papers, and Stray Feathers (although we’re probably going to relist those last two in the near future). Shared Ingressa will link you to everything we’ve tagged with the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike license (which, as of this writing, is one thing). Story Papers and Stray Feathers are both blogs about storytelling and worldbuilding by members of Royal Archivist–Mike and Ann share the duties on Story Papers, while Geoff is tackling Stray Feathers. It seems likely there will be crossover between those two blogs in the coming years as well.

In addition, we made some title adjustments to more accurately reflect what some of our personnel have been doing in the past few months:

Sean McNeil is now officially our creative director. Sean has been choosing the columnist theme weeks and tracking continuity for several months now, so it only seems right he get the spiffy title to reflect that.

Ann K. McArtor is now officially our managing editor. Ann has been working with several creators on a variety of projects so, again, it’s only right she get a title that reflects her true role with Royal Archivist.

Feel free to congratulate both the next time you see them. :)

As for Mike, he’s going to continue to help track continuity and keep the website updated. His “official” title now is storyteller, which is a fancier way of saying staff writer and editor. :3
